Transcript Quality

Why Transcript Source Matters for Follow-Up Quality

How meeting transcript quality affects AI-generated follow-up email sequences

1
Richest Material

Full transcripts beat short summaries, every time

Not all transcripts are created equal. Tools like Fireflies and Otter that produce speaker-identified, timestamped, full-conversation transcripts give Scurry the richest material to work with. The AI can identify who said what, track objections across the conversation, spot budget mentions even when phrased indirectly, and attribute action items to specific people.

2
Full Transcript · Not Summary

Scurry reads the full conversation — never a summary

Scurry doesn't skim summaries. It reads the entire meeting transcript — every objection, every budget mention, every name, every next step. Summaries lose the specific language that makes follow-up emails land. That's why Scurry connects to transcript tools, not summary-only tools — the full conversation goes in, so the AI has real material to reference in every email from your actual conversations.

3
Hands-Free Edge

Fireflies OAuth delivers the full transcript automatically

The Fireflies native OAuth integration has an edge here: it delivers the full transcript with speaker identification and meeting metadata automatically. No manual export, no copy-paste, no webhook setup. Everything flows in, and Scurry uses the full conversation to generate your sequences.

Use Zoom, Meet, or Teams?

These Tools Generate Transcripts — But Don't Auto-Connect

Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams can transcribe your meetings — but they save transcripts locally (Google Docs, OneDrive, meeting chat). They don't push transcripts to external tools automatically. That means you'd need to manually copy and paste each transcript into Scurry.

Zoom

Transcripts save to Zoom cloud. Manual export needed.

Google Meet

Transcripts save to Google Docs. Manual export needed.

Microsoft Teams

Transcripts save to OneDrive. Manual export needed.

Want it fully automated? Add a transcript tool.

Tools like Fireflies, Otter, and Fathom sit alongside Zoom, Meet, or Teams — they join your meetings, transcribe, and push transcripts to Scurry automatically. Most have free plans. Once connected, every transcript your meeting tool generates flows through to Scurry — which reads it and generates personalized follow-up sequences from your actual conversations.

Transcript-Source Agnostic

One Product, Every Transcript Source

Scurry works with every meeting recording and transcription tool

Some teams use Fireflies for external calls and Zoom's built-in transcription for internal meetings. Some use Gong for sales conversations and Otter for customer success check-ins. Some switch tools every quarter as new options emerge.

Scurry doesn't care. Direct integration, endpoint, or both running simultaneously — every transcript feeds the same workflow engine, the same Universal Prompts, the same AI Filters. Your brand voice stays consistent regardless of where the transcript came from. Switch tools, add tools, mix tools — your follow-up quality stays identical because Scurry normalizes everything into the same pipeline.

This matters more than it sounds. Teams locked into one transcript tool because "that's what our follow-up system uses" are paying an invisible switching cost. With Scurry, the transcript source is interchangeable. The intelligence layer is what stays constant.

FAQ

Meeting Tool Questions

Common questions about connecting meeting transcript tools to Scurry

What's the difference between a direct integration and the endpoint?
Direct integrations (currently Fireflies) use OAuth — transcripts flow to Scurry automatically the moment they're ready, with zero manual steps after one-time setup. The endpoint is an HTTP webhook that accepts transcripts from any tool that can send them. Both result in the same workflow: transcript arrives, Scurry processes it. Direct integrations are more hands-free; the endpoint is more flexible and works with any tool.
How do I connect a tool via the endpoint?
One-time setup: copy Scurry's endpoint URL from your dashboard, paste it into your transcript tool's webhook settings (usually under "Integrations" or "Automations"). From then on, every transcript your tool produces gets sent to Scurry automatically. If your tool doesn't have built-in webhook support, you can use Zapier or Make as a bridge between the tool and Scurry's endpoint.
What if my transcript tool isn't listed on this page?
If it generates a text transcript, it works with Scurry. Our endpoint accepts standard text transcripts from any source — there's no whitelist. Send it in, Scurry processes it. We've tested with dozens of tools beyond the ones listed here. If your tool can export text or push to a webhook, you're covered.
Can I use multiple transcript tools at the same time?
Yes. Connect as many sources as you need. Some teams use Fireflies for external sales calls and Zoom's built-in transcription for internal meetings. Others use Gong for sales conversations and Otter for customer success. Scurry normalizes every transcript into the same workflow regardless of source — your Universal Prompts and AI Filters apply identically.
Will Scurry add more direct (OAuth) integrations?
Yes. Fireflies is the first native OAuth integration. More are on the roadmap based on user demand — Otter and Gong are most requested. In the meantime, every tool works via the endpoint with the same automation quality. The endpoint isn't a workaround or second-class path; many teams actually prefer it for its flexibility across tools.
Do I need a paid plan on my transcript tool to use Scurry?
Not necessarily. Fireflies, Otter, and Fathom all have free plans that generate usable transcripts. Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams include transcription at no extra cost (though they save locally rather than pushing to webhooks — you'd need a bridge tool or manual export). Higher-tier plans on transcript tools typically give better speaker identification and longer transcripts, which improve Scurry's output quality.
Does Scurry record or transcribe my meetings?
No. Scurry connects to the transcript tools that do the recording and transcribing — Fireflies, Otter, Zoom, Gong, and others. It never records audio, never joins your calls, never transcribes anything. You bring the transcript tools; Scurry handles what comes after. Your existing meeting recording setup stays exactly as it is.
I don't record my meetings yet. Where should I start?
Fireflies is the easiest starting point — it's free to start and has native Scurry integration (OAuth, zero-config). Otter and Fathom are also free. If you're already using Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams, they have built-in transcription you can enable — but you'd need a bridge tool like Fireflies or Zapier to push those transcripts to Scurry automatically.
Does the transcript language matter?
Scurry processes transcripts in any language your transcript tool supports. If Fireflies or Otter delivers a Spanish transcript, Scurry processes it in Spanish. You can configure Universal Prompts to specify the output language separately if needed — generate sequences in English from a French transcript, for example.
What happens if my transcript tool changes or gets replaced?
Swap tools anytime. Scurry's workflow engine is transcript-source agnostic — it processes whatever arrives via OAuth or endpoint. Switch from Otter to Fireflies, add Gong alongside Fathom, or replace everything with a new tool next quarter. Your Universal Prompts, AI Filters, and workflows stay identical. No reconfiguration needed beyond pointing the new tool's webhook at Scurry's endpoint.
